Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis white alabaster wall light filters its light through real stone, so what reaches the room is a soft, even glow rather than a beam. It comes in three heights, 30, 45 and 60 cm, which makes it as workable beside a bed as along a contemporary hallway. Every alabaster wall light we select is chosen for the way the stone behaves once there is light behind it.
The case for this alabaster wall light rests on how it spreads light. The shade is cut from real alabaster, a natural stone whose translucency turns a point source into a milky wash, so nothing in the room is lit harshly. The fully integrated LED module runs at 3000K warm white, the temperature that reads as evening rather than office, and it never drifts towards blue. Set beside a headboard, this alabaster wall light leaves a quiet halo at the right level for a few pages before sleep; put in an entrance hall, it marks the way without glare. The white body and white shade stay deliberately understated, settling into a pale wall while still giving it a mineral presence. Because the stone is natural, no two shades carry the same veining, and it is the light that brings that out. The three heights let you match the scale of the wall, from a small accent to a more deliberate vertical line. Paired with a table lamp, an alabaster wall light of this kind builds the low, layered lighting a British lounge tends to want after dark. Its slim profile sits as comfortably in a plain scheme as it does among linen, plaster and pale timber, where it brings an immediate visual calm. Over a long evening it becomes the light you stop noticing, which is close to the highest compliment a wall light can be paid.
This alabaster wall light pairs real alabaster with a metal frame, finished white throughout, body and shade alike. Three sizes are offered: the 30 cm model measures 10 cm wide and 5 cm deep, the 45 cm model keeps those proportions, and the 60 cm model widens to 12 cm while staying 5 cm deep. That 5 cm figure is the one to note, because an alabaster wall light this shallow sits almost flat against the plaster, which matters in a hallway barely a metre across or on a landing where a shoulder passes close to the wall. Installation of this alabaster wall light is wall-mounted and hard-wired, so a fixed supply must be brought to the fixing point, which makes it a first-fix decision rather than an afterthought. The light source is a fully integrated LED module at 3000K warm white, which removes the question of which bulb to buy and the job of replacing it. Switching is by a standard wall switch, not supplied. For dimming, a Triac dimmer is the recommended route, and it is worth specifying at first fix rather than after the plastering. The rating is IP20, so this alabaster wall light belongs in a dry indoor position and must never be exposed to splashing water. Approvals cover North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia. These are the figures to measure against your own wall before anything decorative enters the conversation.
Start with the wall rather than the room. The 30 cm model suits a short run of wall, or a pair flanking a mirror; the 45 cm sits well either side of a headboard, where two units is the ordinary answer rather than the extravagant one; the 60 cm gives a stairwell or a long hallway some vertical reach. In a room with the 2.4 m ceiling common to British housing, centre an alabaster wall light at roughly 1.5 m and even the 60 cm version leaves breathing room above and below. Repetition suits this shape, and three of them spaced evenly down a corridor reads as rhythm rather than clutter. On colour, the white stone stays neutral and sits easily with pale oak, linen, plaster and polished concrete. If you want to dim this alabaster wall light, allow for the Triac dimmer early; for simple use, the standard wall switch is enough. Have the hard-wired connection made by a qualified electrician, and measure the neighbouring furniture before you commit to a height. It is worth looking at the wall at different hours too, because alabaster shifts in appearance with the daylight around it: flatter and paler by day, deeper and warmer once the alabaster wall light is the only thing lit in the room.
Restrained, natural and quietly made, this alabaster wall light turns an ordinary wall into something worth a second look. Choose the height that suits your room, mount it carefully, and let the stone do the rest.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
