A table lamp is the fitting you move, the one you switch on alone in the evening, the one that makes an island of light rather than general lighting. This collection gathers 62 models in real travertine, alabaster, solid wood and opal glass, from bedside lamps to cordless rechargeable pieces that follow you from room to room.
A ceiling fitting lights a room; a table lamp lights a moment. Set on a bedside table, a hall console or a side table, it cuts a circle of warm light at seated height, exactly where the eye needs it to read or to talk. That is what is meant by task and accent lighting, and it is what gives a room its depth: without it, a lounge stays evenly lit, and therefore flat. Our models favour shades and diffusers that soften the source, in opal glass, translucent alabaster or thin stone, so that no bulb stays visible at eye level.
Three uses emerge in this table lamp collection. The bedside lamp first, compact, often with a switch within reach or a touch control, made to be turned off without getting up. The cordless rechargeable lamp next, which does without a socket altogether: you set it on a garden table, a worktop or a shelf, and charge it over USB. Then the conventional table lamps, larger, meant for consoles and desks. On materials, real travertine brings its mineral mass, alabaster its translucency, solid wood its warmth, and opal glass its even diffusion.
A table lamp is chosen first on its height, which has to suit the piece of furniture carrying it. On a bedside table, aim for 40 to 50 cm so that the bottom of the shade reaches shoulder height once you are sitting up in bed: any higher and the bulb glares, any lower and the light stays trapped by the furniture. On a hall console or a sideboard, 50 to 60 cm works better. Output is then a matter of the source: most of our models take an E27 Edison screw (ES) or G9 capsule bulb of your choosing, and several carry a dimmable LED with three colour temperatures, from 2700 K for the evening to 4000 K for reading.
A third of this table lamp collection runs on a rechargeable battery. The point goes beyond the missing cable: these models travel from the lounge to the terrace, serve as a night light, and see out a dinner outdoors with no extension lead. Stated runtime generally falls between eight and twenty hours depending on the intensity chosen, for a full charge in a few hours over a USB-C port. Several are rated for sheltered outdoor use. If you are undecided, start there: it is the category whose owners move the lamp least from where they first put it.
Browse the sub-collections to target your need: bedside lamps, travertine table lamps or cordless lamps. Every page gives the height, the runtime where it applies, the light source and the finishes available.
