Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis suspended travertine wall light brings together a shade of real travertine, a cap of solid wood and a precision metal arm. At 25 cm wide and 20 cm high it reads like a small pendant held against the wall. At Alborra a travertine wall light is conceived as a controlled assembly of three materials.
Stone gives this travertine wall light its presence, in the form of a mineral shade described as real travertine, honed and matt rather than shiny. Slight irregularities stay visible across the surface, and light grazing the stone reveals its grain. A solid wood cap crowns the shade, in walnut, in natural timber or in white depending on the combination you choose. The arm and frame, in precision metal, come in black or in gold, and it is they that draw the suspended line of the whole. A travertine wall light with a black arm gains in graphic clarity, while the gold version carries more warmth. Each pairing of stone, timber and metal produces a different object, from the most restrained to the most decorative. The architectural, suspended format suits interiors that like precise compositions, honest materials and firm lines. Fitted either side of a bed or a chest of drawers, a travertine wall light does the work of a suspended bedside light, and the pair is how most people buy it. In an entrance hall it lights a console or a mirror while giving the eye something sculptural to settle on. Stone, timber and metal talk to one another here without competing, and a travertine wall light of this kind rewards a close look as much as a distant one. At 20 cm high it also stays well clear of a standard low ceiling, which matters when the piece hangs rather than sits flat on the wall.
This travertine wall light arrives with integrated wiring and can be mounted on a wall or on a ceiling. The G9 capsule bulb cap takes a single bulb of 5W maximum, incandescent or the LED equivalent. The bulb is not supplied, which leaves the colour temperature of the room in your hands. It is compatible with a dimmer, sold separately, so this travertine wall light can move from working light to a low evening glow. It is rated for damp locations, bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces included. That rating widens the use of a stone fitting, which can then go beside a basin or under a porch. Compliance extends to North American, Australian, European and Middle Eastern standards. For a travertine wall light these figures matter as much as the look, because they decide which rooms are open to it. At 25 cm wide and 20 cm high it suits a narrow pier of wall as readily as a broad one, and the 5W ceiling keeps the load near the stone low. The solid wood cap and the stone shade answer each other in tone, from deep walnut to bright white.
To settle a travertine wall light into a room, look first at the colour of the wall and of the furniture nearest it. A pale wall calls for the black arm, which draws a clean line, while a dark wall brings the gold finish forward. The cap follows the same logic, walnut for a warm interior, white for a bright one, natural timber for a spare scheme. In pairs, mirrored either side of a headboard, two of them make a reassuring symmetry, and wall lights either side of a bed is the arrangement British bedrooms fall into most often. On its own, a travertine wall light becomes a focal point, above a small hall table for instance. Against glass or bare metal, travertine offers density and a stronger sense of material. When fitting, check that the G9 cap receives a bulb of no more than 5W and that any dimmer you add is compatible with the bulb. In a bathroom, place it near the basin or the mirror, within the zone the damp rating allows. A travertine wall light there brings mineral warmth to a room that is usually all tile and chrome. Once up it asks only for a dry cloth now and then, and a travertine wall light kept clean holds its grain for years.
In sum, this travertine wall light combines a shade of real travertine, a cap of solid wood and a black or gold frame, with a rating for damp locations. It is for people who like materials assembled with care. Choose the three tones together and give a flat wall some relief.

A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
