Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis walnut wall light lines up two or three cylindrical heads in real travertine along a backplate of solid wood in a walnut finish. Black metal ball joints hold each shade to the plate, so the row can be set straight or broken deliberately. It mounts on a wall or on a ceiling, which makes it a useful fitting for shaping a room rather than simply lighting it.
Scale is the first decision. The two-head version measures 35 cm wide by 16.5 cm high, and the three-head version 53.5 cm wide at the same height, so both read as a horizontal band rather than a single point. The backplate in solid wood with a walnut finish carries the whole assembly and brings an immediate warmth to a cool wall, while the heads are cut from real travertine, whose open pores and shifting tone give each shade its own character. A walnut wall light of this width behaves like a lit cornice: it draws the eye along the wall instead of stopping it, which is exactly what a low-ceilinged room benefits from, since horizontal light makes a 2.4 m room feel wider rather than shorter. The black joints let each head of the walnut wall light be angled independently, so you can wash a wall with two and drop the third onto a worktop. Above a desk or a narrow console the 35 cm version centres easily; above a sofa or a wide headboard the 53.5 cm version has the span to match the furniture beneath it.
This walnut wall light takes standard E26/E27 Edison screw (ES) lampholders, two on the smaller version and three on the larger. Lamps for the walnut wall light are not included, and each takes a maximum of 40 W, incandescent or the LED equivalent, which leaves the choice between a filament lamp for the look of it and an LED for the running cost. The fitting is compatible with a dimmer, not included, and because every head runs from the same circuit the dimming applies across the row; that means every lamp you fit must itself be dimmable, or the whole fitting will misbehave. A dimmable walnut wall light is worth the extra care, because three heads at full output in a small room are rarely what anyone wants after dark. It is rated for damp locations, which brings bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces into range. Mounting is on the wall or on the ceiling with the cabling concealed behind the backplate, so a walnut wall light of 53.5 cm can also serve as a small flush ceiling light in a hallway or a box room where a conventional fitting would hang too low. Plan the supply position of the walnut wall light carefully before anything is drilled, since the plate has a single entry point and a 53.5 cm board is unforgiving about being moved 10 cm to the left. A joiner-made wall or a solid plastered one takes it easily; on plasterboard, spread the load across the full length of the plate. Travertine is a dense stone, so whatever the substrate, use fixings you would trust with rather more than you expect to hang.
Match the fitting to the furniture, not to the wall. The 35 cm walnut wall light sits comfortably above a desk, a small console or a single bed, and leaves wall free on either side. The 53.5 cm version wants something broad beneath it, a sofa, a wide headboard or a run of worktop, otherwise it floats. In an entrance hall, this walnut wall light can be the main light on the wall, provided you choose warm lamps, since three cool heads in a small hall read as a shop rather than a home. In a bathroom the damp rating allows it above a wide mirror, where a horizontal row gives flatter, kinder light than a single point. Mounted on the ceiling, the walnut wall light works as a compact flush ceiling light for a corridor where a deeper fitting would hang into the headroom. If you intend to add a dimmer, buy dimmable lamps for every head at the same time. And level the plate with care: at 53.5 cm, a millimetre of tilt shows from the other end of the room.
Two or three travertine heads, a solid wood plate in a walnut finish, adjustable black joints and the choice of wall or ceiling: this walnut wall light suits a careful renovation where the lighting is meant to follow the architecture. Pick the width that matches the furniture below it, and keep the lamps warm.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.

keyboard_arrow_downNo, and that is deliberate: travertine and alabaster are real stones, and the veining differs from one piece to the next. The shape and dimensions, however, are as specified.
Can I install a light in a bathroom?
keyboard_arrow_downSome models. The ‘bathroom zone rating’ entry appears on the relevant product pages — without it, keep the light for dry rooms.
