Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis travertine wall light marries a body of natural stone, sand-toned and textured, to a canopy of fine timber. It fixes to a wall as readily as to a ceiling and measures 12.5 cm by 15 cm high. A small architectural fitting that brings material and warmth to supplementary light.
Travertine is a stone you want to touch: its textured surface, its sand tone and its open grain give it a tactile presence that smooth materials do not offer. In this travertine wall light, the body of real natural travertine is paired with a mount in fine timber, offered in a walnut or a natural wood finish. The contrast between pale stone and the warmth of timber makes a balanced whole, which agrees as easily with a spare interior as with a warmer scheme. The travertine wall light is conceived as an architectural piece: its compact form, 12.5 cm by 15 cm high, is not trying to dominate the wall but to dress it with restraint. That format suits narrow walls, the space between two doors or the area above a switch, where a wider travertine wall light would be in the way, and in a British hallway the figure that matters is the one that keeps your shoulder clear of it. It is particularly at home in a corridor, a hall, a bedroom or beside a mirror, wherever you want a point of light that is discreet but considered. A travertine wall light of this size works alone, to pick out a corner of a room, or in a run, to pace a long wall at regular intervals. The integrated wiring keeps the lines crisp and avoids any visible flex. Choosing a travertine wall light means preferring the real material to a synthetic facing, and being willing to show it.
The fitting can be mounted on a wall or on a ceiling, set directly on the timber canopy, so it is an architectural ceiling fitting and a travertine wall light in one reference. It takes a standard E26/E27 Edison screw (ES) cap, compatible with ordinary bulbs, and accepts a bulb of 40 W maximum in incandescent or its LED equivalent, the latter being the recommendation. This travertine wall light also works with dimmers, sold separately, so the level can follow the hour of the day. The supply covers a wide range, AC 110-240V, and the whole is declared compliant with the standards of North America, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. Another strength: the fitting is rated for damp locations, which suits bathrooms and covered outdoor positions, with the precise siting against the zones left to your electrician. This travertine wall light therefore brings together the qualities of a decorative fitting and those of an adaptable one, usable in several rooms of the same house. Its body of natural stone gives it a visual weight that sits oddly against its small size, in the best way, and the fine timber mount softens the meeting with the wall or the ceiling. Stone on a timber canopy is not a hollow fitting, and the fixing for this travertine wall light deserves choosing for the wall behind it rather than for convenience, which is a two-minute conversation at the survey stage. A clear technical base, with no superfluous options, for reliable light and simple decisions at the installation stage.
The damp rating opens a use that many stone fittings do not allow: a bathroom or a covered terrace. A travertine wall light set either side of a mirror throws a flattering side light and brings a warm mineral material into a room where tiling usually does all the work. The walnut canopy of this travertine wall light answers the timber furniture or accessories already there. Outdoors under cover it suits a porch or a sheltered dining corner. To make the most of the stone, choose a warm LED, as the specification recommends: it runs cool and brings out the textured sand tone of the travertine. If you want to vary the light, pair it with a compatible dimmer, bought separately. On fitting, the wiring of this travertine wall light is integrated and the assembly sets directly on the timber canopy, but allow for a careful installation suited to the room. As a ceiling fitting, the same piece goes into a narrow corridor or a dressing room where a pendant light would be in the way, which under a 2.4 m ceiling is often the deciding point.
With its travertine body, its fine timber canopy and its damp-location rating, this travertine wall light slips into any room in the house. Choose it for the real material and the simplicity of fitting it.

A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
