Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis travertine wall light brings a textured beige stone together with a structure in black metal and solid walnut. It fixes to a wall or a ceiling on integrated wiring, so the cable never shows. Its integrated LED module gives a warm white at 3000 K, intended for a carefully put-together contemporary room.
The shade of this travertine wall light is genuine travertine, and the stone is left to speak: open pores, soft bands of beige, a honed matt surface rather than a polished one. Around it the black metal and solid walnut structure draws a hard, graphic edge, and that contrast between a soft material and a sharp one is the whole idea. A travertine wall light built only of stone would read as heavy, and the black metal is what keeps it upright. The measurements are 15 cm wide by 40 cm high, a slim vertical that sits naturally either side of a bed, along a corridor or up the wall of a staircase. Forty centimetres is a confident height, so check the clear plaster first: in a room with a 2.4 m ceiling a travertine wall light of this length wants a run free of picture rails and cornices, and the reward is a fitting that lifts the eye and makes the room read taller than it is. Mounted at eye level it gives a discreet point of light, a long way from the flat overhead glare of a ceiling fitting, and it lets the stone become the thing people notice. A travertine wall light in a pair, one each side of a headboard, remains the most useful arrangement and the one the British long tail keeps asking for.
This travertine wall light runs on a high-performance integrated LED module with a life of around 50,000 hours, so there is no lamp to choose and no cap to check, but also nothing to replace: the fitting is a single considered object rather than a housing for a consumable. Fifty thousand hours is a long time to live with a travertine wall light, which is an argument for choosing the position carefully. Its colour temperature is warm white at 3000 K, which brings the beige of the travertine and the brown of the walnut forward and suits living rooms and bedrooms better than anything cooler would. The dimmable function allows the output to be set, provided the travertine wall light is paired with a compatible dimmer, which is not supplied with the fitting. The integrated wiring allows mounting on a wall or on a ceiling, which is real freedom when the supply is not where you would like it, and a travertine wall light of 40 cm set horizontally on a ceiling behaves as a slim flush ceiling light. It is rated for damp locations, so bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces are both within range, with the position settled against the zones by your electrician. No weight is published; travertine is dense and 40 cm of it is not negligible, so choose fixings for the substrate rather than the size and spread the load on plasterboard. Ask your electrician to confirm the fixings for a 40 cm travertine wall light before the backplate goes up.
The damp rating is what lets this travertine wall light flank a bathroom mirror or sit above a basin with the same composure it has in a lounge. A pair at eye level gives light across a face rather than down onto it, which is both kinder and more practical. A single travertine wall light above a basin will always throw a shadow one way. The same fitting suits a covered outdoor space, a sheltered terrace or a porch, where the mineral shade and the solid wood plate carry on a natural scheme rather than interrupting it. To build an atmosphere, put the travertine wall light on a compatible dimmer, not included: 3000 K becomes intimate in the evening and perfectly serviceable for the ordinary business of the day. Stone like this sits well with wood, linen, ceramic and opal glass, and once fitted the 15 cm by 40 cm outline recedes while the stone keeps catching the light as the evening draws in. That is the part of a travertine wall light nobody photographs well.
Natural stone, solid walnut and black metal, with integrated wiring and a 3000 K LED behind it: this travertine wall light combines restraint, a long-lived source and real freedom over where it goes. Add a compatible dimmer if evenings matter, and fit a pair where the wall has two sides. Keep the mounting height consistent between them.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.

keyboard_arrow_downSome models. The ‘bathroom zone rating’ entry appears on the relevant product pages — without it, keep the light for dry rooms.
