Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis travertine pendant light in the form of a dome pairs textured sand-toned stone with carved rings in solid wood. It has an architectural look and hangs alone or in a linear group, bringing a mineral and warm presence to your ceiling.
The shade of this travertine pendant light is a dome of real sand-toned travertine with a textured surface. Above it sit carved rings in solid wood, finished in a walnut tone, that crown the dome with a few turned pieces. The whole has the sober, architectural look of a building detail made smaller, and it relies on proportion rather than decoration. The dome of this travertine pendant light is what you see first, a plain curve of stone that lets the grain and pores do the decorating. The single version is 15 cm across and 15 cm high, a compact form. The double version is 60 cm long and the triple 80 cm long, and both hang at an overall height of 150 cm, which suits a dining table, a counter or a long console. A travertine pendant light of this kind works alone as a spot of light, or in a line as a row of identical domes. The stone is natural, so no two domes show the same pores or the same shades of sand. The cables of 150 cm are easy to adjust. Each ring is carved, so the wood shows its own grain, and with the finish in a walnut tone it matches common timber furniture. The rings add warmth to this travertine pendant light and soften the stone without hiding it, which is what you want from the materials in a calm, modern room with some timber in it. Placed above a console, the dome and its rings read as a small piece of architecture, and the shadow they throw on the wall is as much part of the fitting as the stone.
Each head of this travertine pendant light has a standard E27 Edison screw (ES) cap, and takes a bulb of up to 40 W per head, incandescent or LED, not included. Dimming is possible, but it needs an external dimmer and dimmable bulbs, neither of which is included. The supply runs from 110 to 240 V AC. The cables of this travertine pendant light are 150 cm long and adjustable, and it can be installed on sloped ceilings of up to 30 degrees, which helps in an attic or under a pitched roof. We recommend a qualified electrician. The three versions share the same data, so you can compare them on size alone: the single head at 15 cm for a spot of light, the double at 60 cm for a table, and the triple at 80 cm for a long table or an island. A travertine pendant light with a standard cap gives you a free choice of bulb, and a warm one will suit the stone. Remember to count the output: three heads at 40 W make a total of 120 W for the triple version.
For a bedside, a landing or an entrance, take the single dome. For a table, take the double or the triple, and centre it on the length of the table rather than on the room. Under a 2.40 m ceiling the 150 cm cable is more than you need, since the usual guideline puts the lowest point of a pendant at 2.10 m above the finished floor where people walk; over a table you may hang it lower, but keep the view across the room open. A travertine pendant light of this kind goes with limewash, pale oak and brushed metal, and with the quiet greys and creams of a lounge. If you like a freer arrangement, hang several single domes at different heights, and repeat the finish of the rings in a shelf or a frame close by. Leave space around each dome, so the stone and the rings can be seen from every side. Over a bedside or a landing, one dome of this travertine pendant light at 15 cm high takes very little headroom. Because every head takes its own bulb, a line of three gives you three small sources rather than one large one, and a warm bulb in each keeps the light consistent. Wipe the stone with a dry cloth rather than a wet one.
Textured sand-toned stone and carved solid wood rings: this dome travertine pendant light brings a mineral, warm presence to a ceiling. Choose a single head or a line, and have it fitted by an electrician.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
