Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis travertine flush ceiling light caps a globe of opal glass with a dome of raw stone, for a point of light that is mineral and soft at once. It comes in two sizes and fits to the ceiling or to a wall. Alborra sets out its materials, its dimensions and its possible uses below.
This travertine flush ceiling light is a very sculptural piece: the mineral dome is raw real travertine, with a textured pale surface that shows the grain and the irregularities of the stone. Under it, a diffuser globe of premium opal glass, in a white finish, spreads a milky, softened light. The contrast between the roughness of the stone and the smoothness of the glass gives this travertine flush ceiling light its whole character, and it looks like a stone mushroom set against the ceiling. The canopy, which serves as the base, is in precision metal and can be chosen in a walnut-coloured, a wood-toned or a white finish, which lets you match the travertine flush ceiling light to the colour of your ceiling, your joinery or your walls. Travertine is a natural stone, so no two domes are exactly alike: the texture and the tones vary from one piece to the next, and that is what gives the object its worth. This travertine flush ceiling light is for those who like authentic materials and simple forms, and who want a little stone in their lighting without weighing down the room. It fits a pared-back interior as readily as a warmer scheme of wood, linen and ceramics, and it remains a visual anchor even when it is switched off. The small size of this travertine flush ceiling light also makes it a very good supplementary light: set near a mirror, a reading chair or a front door, it makes a zone of soft light that structures the space without overloading it, and that changes its look with the colour of the bulb you choose.
This travertine flush ceiling light is offered in two sizes: the standard size measures Ø 15 cm by H 16 cm, and the large size measures Ø 23 cm by H 23 cm. Under a 2.40 m ceiling the standard size leaves 2.24 m beneath it and the large size 2.17 m, both above the usual 2.10 m. The design is flexible, which means this travertine flush ceiling light mounts on the ceiling or on a wall, as a ceiling light or a wall light, with an integrated electrical wiring. It uses a standard G9 capsule fitting, and the recommended power is 10 W maximum, incandescent or LED equivalent; the bulb is not included. The fitting is compatible with a dimmer, also not included, so the light can be adjusted through the day. Another asset of this travertine flush ceiling light is its bathroom zone rating (certified for humid zones), suited to bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces, and its overall compliance lists North American, Australian, European and Middle Eastern standards. The opal glass globe spreads the light without showing the bulb, and the precision metal canopy gives a clean, discreet fixing. This travertine flush ceiling light is therefore a low-power fitting, made for ambient light, for bringing out a wall or for marking a passage, rather than for the main lighting of a large room.
The choice of size depends on where you put the fitting. The 15 cm travertine flush ceiling light suits tight spaces: a corridor, an entrance, the area above a basin, a niche or a corner of a bedroom. Its small outline is easily repeated in a series to give rhythm to a wall or a ceiling. The large size, 23 cm across and as high, has more presence and stands out as a true decorative object in a lounge, a stairwell or a spacious bathroom. As for the finish of the travertine flush ceiling light, the walnut-coloured or wood-toned canopy goes with parquet floors and warm joinery, while the white canopy melts into a pale ceiling and leaves the stone in the foreground. In a bathroom, make use of the zone rating, but leave the connection to an electrician. Finally, choose a warm-toned G9 bulb: it will give the opal glass its softness and bring out the grain of the travertine, which is the whole charm of this travertine flush ceiling light. In a room where several fittings live together, it plays the accent piece, looked at as much as it is used.
With its dome of raw travertine, its opal glass globe and its wall or ceiling mounting, this travertine flush ceiling light offers a soft light and a material worth looking at. Choose the size and the canopy finish that suit your room.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
