Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis decorative opal glass wall light comes in a single version, with one sphere, or a double, with two. The globes of the opal glass wall light sit on a gold-plated iron structure and spread a soft halo across the wall. Modern and spare, made for a bedroom, a lounge or a hallway.
The globe is among the calmest forms in lighting: no angle, no edge, it wraps the light in a sphere. This opal glass wall light offers two versions. The single measures 15 cm wide, 15 cm high and 15 cm deep, and acts as one point of light, which is exactly right either side of a bed or beside a mirror, where two units give the balance a single one cannot. The double version of the opal glass wall light measures 15 cm wide, 30.4 cm high and 15 cm deep: its two stacked spheres make a lit column that takes more height and suits a hallway, a stair wall or an entrance. The specification gives a lit area of 5 to 10 square metres depending on the version, which places the piece accurately: ambient light, not task light. The white opal glass of the opal glass wall light softens the source and keeps glare out of the eye; the light passes through the globe and then draws a gentle halo on the wall, so the fitting reads as a lit form rather than a bright point. Choosing between single and double is really choosing the rhythm of the wall: a discreet note, or a more deliberate presence. Either way, the opal glass wall light stays quiet and legible, and its 15 cm projection keeps it clear of a passing shoulder.
The main material of this opal glass wall light is gold-plated iron, which forms the support and brings a warm, almost jewel-like note against the whiteness of the globes. The white opal glass of the diffuser softens the light and gives it a milky quality. That combination of plated metal and opal sphere defines the piece: a modern minimalism with no flourish, lifted by a warm metallic reflection. The source in the opal glass wall light is a G9 LED bulb, sold separately. That leaves the colour temperature to you: a warm white for a bedroom, something more neutral for a hallway. The fitting runs on 180 V to 240 V AC. It is not dimmable, so the light stays as the bulb sets it, which removes any question of dimmer compatibility and anything extra for the electrician to specify. This opal glass wall light is intended for indoor wall mounting, connected at a back box. The plated iron holds a steady presence on the wall and the spherical form spreads the light evenly around each globe, so it reads well from across the room as well as close to. The double version carries two globes, so agree the fixing on a dry-lined wall.
The rooms the specification suggests say a good deal about the range of this opal glass wall light: bedroom, lounge, restaurant, hotel and hallway. In a bedroom, a pair of single versions frames the headboard and does the work of two bedside lamps, freeing both tables. In a lounge, the double version dresses a bare wall above a console or a sofa. Along a hallway, a run of matching fittings punctuates the passage with an even halo. In a restaurant or a hotel, the row of lit globes makes an atmosphere people settle into. For height, set the opal glass wall light at shoulder level or a little above, and in a hallway avoid mounting it too low, so the globes stay out of the eyeline. Against a white wall the gold reads softly; against a dark wall the white spheres become small moons. Keeping one mounting height from globe to globe gives a regularity that makes a space look ordered. To connect the opal glass wall light, isolate the circuit at the consumer unit and work through the back box provided; call an electrician at the first doubt. Remember to buy the G9 LED bulb, which is not included. One last point of proportion: a double opal glass wall light wants more clear wall above and below it than a single, so in a room with a 2.4 m ceiling measure the run before choosing between the two versions.
White spheres, gold-plated iron and a soft halo: this opal glass wall light settles into a great many rooms. Choose the single or the double version, add the G9 bulb you prefer, and give the wall a quiet light.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
