Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis monolithic wood wall light pairs solid walnut with travertine in an upright silhouette 32 cm high. Made for careful contemporary interiors, it gives a light filtered through stone without crowding the wall. It is a wood wall light of great sobriety, noticed for its material rather than its volume.
At 8.5 cm wide by 32 cm high, this wood wall light slips into a hallway, either side of a bed, into an entrance or beside a mirror. Its body combines solid walnut and unpolished travertine, two materials that each keep their grain, their variation and their feel. The walnut brings a warm, deep tone, while the travertine sets up a mineral presence against the vertical of the timber. This wood wall light forms a sober monolith, without needless ornament, at home in a pared-back interior and in a warmer scheme alike. The diffusing dome is translucent travertine, a stone worked thin enough to pass light, so the lighting reveals itself through the material itself. For anyone after a wood wall light that does more than illuminate, that result gives a bare wall character without loading it. The electrical wiring is integrated, which keeps the line clean and leaves nothing superfluous on the body of the piece. Installation is on the wall, though the format also accepts a ceiling position, which opens up ways of composing according to the room; at 8.5 cm wide and shallow with it, nothing is in the way under a 2.4 m ceiling. Fitted as a pair or a trio, a wood wall light of this size paces a wall very quietly, and the pair either side of a bed is the arrangement most people choose.
This wood wall light runs from a single standard G9 capsule cap, for a bulb of 7 W maximum, incandescent or LED equivalent. The bulb is not included, which leaves you the choice of colour temperature. Dimming is provided for, since the fitting is compatible with a dimmer, not included. You can therefore set the mood of one evening differently from the next with a wood wall light whose level adjusts as you please, and it is worth saying so before the circuit is run. The fitting is rated for damp locations, which suits it to bathrooms as well as covered outdoor spaces. The technical accents combine premium glass and finely worked metal, which underline the precision of the assembly without drawing the eye from the stone and the timber. This wood wall light connects to a fixed electrical installation, the wiring being integrated, whether on the wall or on the ceiling. It complies with the North American, European, Australian and Middle East standards. Every detail is arranged so the material stays at the centre, from the grain of the walnut to the translucency of the lit travertine. The dimensions stay contained, 8.5 cm wide by 32 cm high, which allows several pieces to be aligned without saturating a space or weighing down a surface. This walnut wood wall light therefore finds its place in a lounge, a bedroom or a bathroom.
Think first about position, since the light comes from the travertine dome and is best seen face on or slightly off. In a hallway, a pair facing one another creates a regular rhythm, while beside a bed one replaces the bedside lamp and frees the table. In a bathroom, the damp rating allows a position near the mirror, clear of direct splashing. A wood wall light also reads as a decorative piece when it is off, thanks to the pairing of walnut and stone. On bulbs, favour a low-output G9 and stay under 7 W, choosing a dimmable version if you intend to use a dimmer. With a warm white, the light passes through the travertine and brings out its markings, which flatters the timber as much as the walls. A wood wall light 32 cm tall sits best at eye level or a little above, according to the use of the room and the height of your ceilings. Its narrow upright format agrees with the straight lines of joinery, of render or of a wall painted in a single colour. The result to aim for is that of a sculptural object, discreet by day and warm once night falls, which is what stone and timber do better than painted metal. Kept to one wall and one height, a wood wall light of this kind asks nothing further of the room.
With its solid walnut, its translucent travertine dome and its 32 cm height, this wood wall light makes an elegant and sculptural piece of lighting. Add it to your interior to give your walls a living material and a light filtered through stone, at Alborra.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
