Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis monolithic travertine table lamp is made from real travertine, in a natural, textured, sandy tone. At 30 cm tall and 12 cm across, it has the outline of a column, halfway between a light and a sculpture. Alborra offers it for interiors that favour raw material, restraint and a warm light for the evening.
Travertine is a natural stone with its own pores and veining, so every piece has a pattern of its own. This travertine table lamp makes that the heart of its identity, with a body and a cap cut from the same material, which gives it its monolithic strength. The natural, textured tone catches the daylight and answers artificial light with subtlety, shifting from pale sand to warmer shades as the hour changes. On a piece of furniture, this travertine table lamp takes on the look of an architectural object, like a small pillar standing on an imaginary plinth. This travertine table lamp weighs 3.5 kg, which gives it a stable footing and makes it reassuring to live with, and it gives the hand a sense of quality that plastic never offers. A textured, matt stone surface like this goes well with pale wood, linen, raw ceramic and other mineral materials, pairings that are popular in contemporary interiors drawing on Japanese or Mediterranean ideas. The lamp works alone, as a single piece on a console, as well as in a pair or a group of three at different heights on one sideboard. A travertine table lamp in natural stone does not try to please everyone: it speaks to those who like authentic material and finishes without artifice. Under a ceiling of 2.40 m it stands well clear of any fitting, and it asks for no fixing to the wall.
Your electrician will want the figures, so here they are. This travertine table lamp measures 12 cm in diameter and 30 cm in height, and weighs 3.5 kg, a weight that fits a lamp made of stone. The light source of this travertine table lamp is an integrated LED module, a high-performance one, with a lifespan of around 50,000 hours; it cannot be replaced, which means there is no bulb to buy and no cap to match. The colour temperature is a 3000 K warm white, or an adjustable three-colour light, so you can choose between a soft evening glow and a clearer one. The travertine table lamp runs on 110 to 240 V AC. The power comes through a cable of 150 cm with an integrated switch, and a plug at the end, so the lamp is simply set down and connected to a socket. It is made for indoor use only. The travertine table lamp stands on its own weight, so you need to give it a flat, firm surface: a console, a sideboard or a solid bedside table. A footprint of 12 cm across leaves the rest of the console free. The beauty of the object lies in its restraint, and it asks nothing of the room except a little space. In a group, a travertine table lamp of this size lets you play with heights without any fixing on the wall.
A travertine table lamp of this kind looks best when it is given room to breathe. On a console in a hallway, it makes a quiet landmark of light, set against a plain wall that lets the stone speak. On a bedside table, its slender 12 cm diameter takes little space, which helps in a compact bedroom, though the weight of 3.5 kg means the surface should be stable. In a lounge, put the travertine table lamp on a sideboard beside a pile of books or a bowl of fruit, and let the warm 3000 K light bring out the texture of the stone. A travertine table lamp is also at ease in a dining room, where its glow is soft enough for a table by candlelight. To dust the travertine table lamp, a dry soft cloth is best; avoid anything abrasive on the surface of the stone. Because it is corded, it needs a socket within 150 cm, so plan where the cable will run before you settle on a position. If you are putting several lamps together, vary the heights and keep the same tone of stone, so that the group reads as one idea. At 30 cm, this travertine table lamp is low enough for a room with a modest ceiling height. Whatever the room, let its shadow fall on a bare wall, where the texture of the stone will be seen.
Real travertine, a warm LED and a form like a small pillar: this travertine table lamp brings quiet material presence to a console, a bedside or a sideboard. Alborra chooses it for those who prefer authentic stone to imitation. A lamp to keep for years.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
