Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis marble wall light plays a veined Italian stone against the softness of a pearl-finished globe. It comes with one, two or three heads, dressing a wall with a diffused and well-mannered light. A marble wall light for a contemporary room where the materials are expected to be genuine rather than suggested.
The monolithic plate of this marble wall light is cut from real Italian marble with its own veining, so each piece carries a different drawing and no two fittings are alike. A marble wall light is bought from a quarry rather than a mould, and the veining proves it. Against it sits a globe in opal glass with a pearl finish, and the contrast between the hardness of the stone and the softness of the glass is the whole composition. Precision metal joins the two, and the junction is where a cheaper fitting would show itself. Three versions are offered: the single head measures 12 cm wide by 35 cm high, the two-head version reaches 44 cm high and the three-head version 60 cm high. Every marble wall light in the range keeps the same 12 cm width, and only the height changes with the number of heads, which is unusually helpful: a narrow wall can take the tallest version without becoming crowded. In a room with a 2.4 m ceiling, measure the clear plaster before choosing the 60 cm version, allowing for a picture rail if there is one. A marble wall light that crowds a cornice loses the proportion it was drawn for. Real marble gives the fitting visual weight, the precision metal gives it fineness, and the opal glass gives it clarity, which is a fair summary of why a marble wall light of this kind holds a bare wall on its own.
This marble wall light carries a high-performance integrated LED, which removes any need to choose a lamp: no cap to check, no wattage to respect, nothing to buy alongside the fitting. The trade is that the source is part of the piece, so the colour temperature is settled before it arrives. It runs on a voltage of 110 to 240 V alternating current and its wiring is integrated, which keeps the installation clean and the cable out of sight. Its protection rating is IP20, so this marble wall light is an indoor fitting, for a lounge, a bedroom, a corridor or an entrance hall rather than a bathroom zone or an external wall. One point is worth stating plainly, because it decides the whole electrical plan: the marble wall light is not dimmable. A standard switch is all this marble wall light needs, which makes it simple to live with, but do not pair it with a dimmer, since the function is not provided and a dimmer on a non-dimmable LED will flicker or buzz. No weight is published, and Italian marble over 60 cm is not light: raise that with your electrician before the fixings are chosen, fix into a sound substrate, and spread the load along the plate on plasterboard rather than at one point. Weight is the figure worth asking about before a three-head plate goes up.
With a single head at 35 cm, the marble wall light makes a discreet point of light, well suited either side of a bed or above a console. The two-head version at 44 cm multiplies the light while keeping the same 12 cm width, which is the right answer for a wall that is narrow but tall, the strip beside a chimney breast for instance. The three-head version at 60 cm becomes close to a wall sculpture, and it wants a clear run of plaster and nothing hung near it. Because the light is not variable, decide the main use before you fix the mounting height: a marble wall light aimed at a reading chair goes lower than one meant to light a hallway. For a diffused result, the integrated LED gives a steady output and the pearl-finished opal glass spreads it evenly, which is the quality that makes a bare wall into something worth looking at, evening after evening, without anything else hung near it.
Real Italian marble, opal glass and an integrated LED in three formats: this marble wall light offers a mineral kind of elegance and adapts to the wall you have. It is an indoor fitting and it is not dimmable, so give it a standard switch and a wall with room to spare. Choose the number of heads for the height you have, not the height you want.
