Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis outdoor wall light draws an hourglass in solid aluminium and throws its light back against the wall rather than into the eye. Sealed to IP65 and made from corrosion-resistant solid aluminium, the outdoor wall light comes in two sizes and three finishes. It reads as an object by day and as a soft wash of light after dark, on a front elevation or on an interior wall.
The drawing is what sets this outdoor wall light apart. The waisted hourglass silhouette casts shadow and light across the wall at the same time, and it echoes the sculpted volumes of contemporary architecture. Seen from the side, the outdoor wall light narrows at the waist and opens again at top and bottom, so the beam leaves in two directions and the wall itself does the work of a shade. A shield of solid corrosion-resistant aluminium protects the central module and carries the fitting through bad weather. Two sizes of the outdoor wall light are offered: the compact version measures 20 cm high by 8 cm wide, and the larger version 40 cm high by 15 cm wide. The compact size slips in beside a door or along a narrow passage; the larger one holds its own on a broad elevation or a terrace wall. In a standard room or hallway with a 2.4 m ceiling, the 20 cm height of this outdoor wall light sits comfortably at head height with room to spare above, while the 40 cm version wants a wall with a clear run of at least a metre. Three finishes are available, black and gold, platinum, or all black, so the outdoor wall light can be matched to your joinery, your door furniture and your ironwork. All black sharpens the graphic reading, black and gold adds a warmer note, and platinum gives a cooler, more technical result. The fitting is built for outdoor use and works just as well indoors, in a hall, a stairwell or a lounge wall that calls for an architectural presence, which lets one drawing run through the whole house.
The performance of this outdoor wall light rests on its IP65 rating, which seals it against rain and dust. The lighting principle is indirect and reflective: a high-output central LED module lights the reflector, which returns a soft, glare-free wash that is easy on the eye and flattering to the wall behind. Colour temperature is warm or white, drawn out by the reflector, so you can set the mood of an entrance or a terrace. Output varies with the size of the outdoor wall light: 6W or 10W for the compact version, 20W or 30W for the larger one. The fitting is not dimmable and runs from an ordinary wall switch, which is worth telling your electrician before the circuit is set out. It accepts a universal supply of 85 to 265V AC. Because the light passes through the reflector, it loses all hardness and spreads across the surface, which brings out render, cladding and stone without leaving a bright spot anywhere in the view. Between the solid material, the full seal and the indirect light, this outdoor wall light answers for porches, side passages and garden walls while staying faithful to its original drawing.
The right choice follows the scale of the wall. For a porch, an entrance or a covered walkway, the compact 20 cm version of this outdoor wall light is ample, and it repeats well as a pair either side of a door, which is how most British entrances are best lit. For a large elevation, a terrace wall or a generous hall, the 40 cm version gives the presence the surface needs. On output, 6W and 10W give an ambient level, while 20W and 30W light a wider area with conviction. For finish, follow the rest of the elevation: all black with dark joinery, platinum alongside stainless steel or aluminium, black and gold where you want warmth. Since this outdoor wall light does not dim, settle the wattage at the outset, because it will be fixed. Mount it so the reflector sits above or below the eye line rather than in it, and the indirect light will do its work unseen. Confirm that an 85 to 265V supply matches your circuit, and have the connection made to the wiring regulations. Once fixed, this outdoor wall light asks very little: an occasional wipe keeps the lines crisp, and the aluminium takes weather without staining the render beneath it. If you are lighting a path as well as a door, keep the two sizes on the same finish so the run reads as one family rather than a collection of separate fittings.
Solid aluminium, an IP65 seal and an hourglass silhouette: this outdoor wall light lights the outside of a house with restraint. Choose your size and your finish at Alborra.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
