Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis compact travertine flush ceiling light brings together a canopy of real travertine, a metal cylinder and a globe of opal glass in one small, sculptural fitting. It mounts on the ceiling or on a wall and measures 13 cm across. Alborra describes its materials and its use here in detail.
This travertine flush ceiling light stands out first for the balance of its materials. At the top, a canopy of real travertine with a scalloped edge, in a pale finish, anchors the fitting in stone. In the centre of this travertine flush ceiling light a precision metal cylinder, offered in a walnut-coloured finish or in white, links the parts. Below, the diffuser globe of opal glass, in a white finish, softens the light and wraps it in a milky veil. Together these three elements form a sculptural outline that recalls a small workshop object set against the ceiling. At 13 cm in diameter and 17 cm tall, this travertine flush ceiling light is compact enough for a corridor, an entrance, a corner of a bedroom or a narrow passage, where a wider fitting would crowd. Under a 2.40 m ceiling this travertine flush ceiling light leaves 2.23 m beneath it, which clears the 2.10 m minimum. You can also place several side by side, to mark a wall or a ceiling with a regular rhythm. The stone has a textured surface that varies slightly from piece to piece, which reinforces the handmade character of the whole. The contrast between the grain of the stone and the smooth surface of the glass is exactly what holds the eye, and gives the fitting a presence that is discreet but sure. This travertine flush ceiling light suits minimalist interiors as readily as busier schemes, since its small size lets it act as an accent. Mounted as a pair either side of a doorway or a bed, two units give a balanced, symmetrical light.
This travertine flush ceiling light is a fitting of flexible format: it can serve as a ceiling light or as a wall light, with integrated electrical wiring in both cases. It uses a single G9 capsule fitting and takes a bulb of 10 W maximum, incandescent or LED equivalent; the bulb is not included. The fitting is compatible with a dimmer, also sold separately, so the mood can be adjusted through the day. This travertine flush ceiling light carries a bathroom zone rating (certified for humid zones) and so suits bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces, and its overall compliance lists North American, Australian, European and Middle Eastern standards. The overall dimensions of this travertine flush ceiling light are 13 cm in diameter and 17 cm in height. The central metal cylinder of this travertine flush ceiling light comes in a walnut-coloured or a white finish, which lets you tune the fitting to its setting: walnut-coloured for a warm mood, white for a cleaner line. The opal glass globe gives a subdued light and limits direct glare from the bulb. There is nothing ostentatious about this travertine flush ceiling light: a clean construction, identifiable materials and a simple installation for anyone who can connect a fitting, with an electrician if needed. Because the same fitting serves on the ceiling and on the wall, you can buy two and use them in different rooms.
Versatility is the great strength of this compact travertine flush ceiling light. On the ceiling it lights a corridor or an entrance gently; on a wall it can work as a bedside light, a marker on a staircase or a point of light above a mirror. The bathroom zone rating of this travertine flush ceiling light also opens the door to the bathroom, where stone and opal glass sit naturally, and to covered outdoor spaces such as a loggia or a sheltered porch. To get the best from it, choose a warm-white G9 bulb: the light will pass through the opal glass and warm the stone of the canopy. The white of the globe suits almost any palette, which makes it easy to fit the travertine flush ceiling light into a room that is already decorated. Remember that it is a low-power fitting, limited to 10 W: it is meant for ambient or supplementary light, ideally paired with another source in larger rooms. At the foot of a staircase or on a landing, the small 13 cm footprint lights the step without flooding the stairwell, a useful restraint where the ceiling is low.
With its travertine canopy, its walnut-coloured or white cylinder and its opal glass globe, this travertine flush ceiling light gives a wall or a ceiling a carefully made point of light. All that remains is to choose the finish of the cylinder to suit your interior.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
