Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis alabaster wall light, carved from solid stone, lets the material play with the light. Mounted on a brass structure, the alabaster wall light comes in three heights to suit your walls, from a modest secondary light to a tall vertical. Every example is unique, because real alabaster never repeats itself.
Real alabaster is a stone that lets light pass through it. In an alabaster wall light that property changes everything: the integrated LED does not merely illuminate, it reveals the material, its gradations and its veins. Lit, the shade takes on a depth that neither glass nor fabric reproduces, and the wall beside it receives a soft, almost mineral brightness. Unlit, it keeps the bearing of a small monolith held against the wall, carved from the solid rather than assembled. That has one consequence worth knowing: the veining, the tone and the translucency vary from piece to piece. Your alabaster wall light will therefore never look exactly like another, and that is precisely where its charm lies. At home, this alabaster wall light finds its place in a hallway, where it gives the passage a rhythm, in a bedroom either side of a bed, or in a lounge alongside a sofa or a sideboard. Its narrow silhouette of 12 cm by 9 cm makes it easy to place, even where space is counted, and the 9 cm projection matters in a corridor. The brass structure adds a warm note that answers the tone of the stone and gives it a precise frame.
The alabaster wall light is offered in three sizes that share the same footprint: 12 cm wide and 9 cm deep, in a height of 40 cm, 60 cm or 90 cm. The shortest suits a wall close at hand, beside a mirror or a bedside. The middle version of the alabaster wall light brings a clean verticality without dominating. The tallest, at 90 cm, draws a slender line and holds an entrance or a staircase, though in a house with 2.4 m ceilings it is worth measuring the clear run of wall first, since 90 cm leaves little above and below. The shade is real alabaster carved from the solid, and it rests on a brass structure whose finish follows the stone naturally. The source in this alabaster wall light is an integrated LED: there is no bulb to choose, the light having been designed with the fitting. The accepted supply of 110 to 240 V AC suits an ordinary circuit. The wiring is integrated, and an electrician is recommended for the installation, for a connection that is properly made. This alabaster wall light is intended for indoor use in a dry atmosphere, so keep it to living rooms, bedrooms and hallways rather than wet or outdoor positions. Stone of 90 cm is substantial, so the fixing deserves agreeing in advance.
Start from the room and the height of wall available. In a bedroom, an alabaster wall light of 40 cm slips in either side of the bed and replaces a bedside lamp, which frees the table. In a lounge, the 60 cm version of this alabaster wall light accompanies a sofa or a sideboard without crowding the wall. For an entrance or a stairwell, the 90 cm height draws a firmer line that underlines the volume of the room rather than merely lighting it. If you fit two, remember that alabaster does not repeat: veining, tone and translucency vary, so two fittings will never be quite twins. That is a refinement rather than a fault, comparable to the best stone used indoors, and it is the reason a pair looks alive where two identical fittings would look merely matched. This alabaster wall light goes with soft tones, natural timber, plaster and linen, and the brass adds a gilded note that warms the whole. Against a glass fitting, alabaster brings a more mineral depth; against a fabric shade, a more sculptural presence. Keep it to a dry interior, away from splashing water, and isolate the circuit before any work on the wiring. Choosing an alabaster wall light means choosing a fitting that changes through the day, with the daylight and with the colour of the walls around it, and that is worth bearing in mind when you settle on the height.
Carved from the solid, mounted on brass and fitted with an integrated LED, this alabaster wall light brings the wall a translucent light and a rare material. Choose the height that suits your room and let the stone do the rest.

A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
