Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis black wall light holds an frosted glass globe inside a looped band of black metal, so the sphere appears to float against the wall. A 7W G9 LED bulb is included, which means diffuse light from the moment it is wired in. At Alborra a black wall light of this character gives a wall drawing as much as brightness.
The drawing behind this black wall light is a simple one, a loop of black metal that catches a globe and seems to hold it in mid-air. It is a graphic, modern piece for interiors that like clean lines and firm contrasts. The globe is frosted glass, milky rather than clear, so it softens the source instead of letting it glare. Light is diffused through the full 360 degrees of the sphere, spreading evenly in every direction around it. This black wall light stands 37 cm high and 12 cm wide, slender proportions that lengthen a wall visually. Its projection is 12 cm, measured from the wall to the outer edge of the globe, modest enough to keep a hallway clear of elbows and shoulders. The dark frame makes the globe read brighter, and that contrast works against white, grey or deeply coloured walls. Even unlit, a black wall light built around a loop and a sphere is a decorative object in its own right. It belongs in a lounge, a bedroom, a hallway, an entrance or a reading corner, wherever a single precise point of light is wanted. On this black wall light the frosted glass hides the bulb and keeps hard shadows out of the room.
The 7W G9 capsule LED bulb is included with this black wall light, a practical detail that saves hunting for the right reference. Recommended coverage runs from 5 to 10 square metres, which corresponds to a bedroom, a reading corner or a small entrance hall. In a larger room it works as secondary light rather than the main source, alongside other fittings. Supply runs from 90 to 260V AC, so domestic mains is comfortably within range for this black wall light. The connection is made directly to the mains for a clean indoor wall mounting, with no visible flex or plug. Note that the output is fixed, the light is not dimmable, and it depends on the bulb supplied. In a black wall light with fixed output the brightness stays constant, which suits ambient use and keeps the switching simple. The three figures an electrician will want from a black wall light like this are 37 cm high, 12 cm wide and 12 cm of projection, all easy to check against the wall before drilling. The black metal frame is paired with frosted glass, the only translucent part of the assembly. Light from the G9 passes through the globe and spreads all around it, so nothing on a black wall light of this build points anywhere in particular.
Among the rooms suggested for this black wall light are the lounge, the bedroom, the bedside, a hallway, an entrance and a reading corner. At a bedside a black wall light replaces a table lamp and gives the whole surface of the bedside table back to you. In a reading corner, set the black wall light beside the armchair at shoulder height, for light that wraps rather than points, and in a room with a low ceiling the 37 cm height is worth measuring against the headboard before the holes are drilled. Along a hallway two or three in a row make a steady rhythm down the wall, and wall lights either side of a bed or a mirror is the arrangement most rooms end up asking for, which means buying two. Compared with an adjustable arm, this black wall light gives light without direction, soft and unassertive. Its 5 to 10 square metre coverage suggests one in a small room and two in a longer one. Find the cable position before you fix it, since the connection is made straight to the mains. Use is indoor only, and the frosted glass wipes clean with a soft cloth. Put a black wall light of this kind with natural materials, plain render, pale timber, linen, to warm the graphic black frame. It then behaves like a piece of jewellery on the wall, plain in form and generous in the way it spreads light.
In short, this black wall light brings together a looped black metal frame, an frosted glass globe, an included 7W G9 LED bulb and light diffused through 360 degrees. It suits lounges, bedrooms, hallways and reading corners. Add it where a wall needs a quiet point of light that is ready to use on the day it goes up.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
