Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis alabaster wall light is marked out by its two-panel veil, which wraps the light in a silhouette of its own. The alabaster wall light brings together real stone, matt black metal and a topstitched leather strap. It comes in two sizes, to suit the height of the wall and the scale of the room.
The thinking behind this fitting lies in the two-panel veil, which shapes the silhouette of the alabaster wall light and gives it a line you recognise at once. The shade is made of real alabaster, carved from the solid block: the stone is worked from a single piece, which keeps its natural veins intact. Once lit, the alabaster wall light lets light travel through the material, and the translucency of the stone brings out its shading. Against that mineral surface stand two more contemporary elements: a structure in matt black metal and a topstitched leather strap. On this alabaster wall light the contrast is direct between the clarity of the stone, the restraint of the metal and the texture of the leather, and it is enough to give the fitting character without loading it. The leather strap, topstitched, adds a detail of stitching that shows the care taken over the finish and softens the rigour of the metal. In a lounge, a corridor or a bedroom, this alabaster wall light reads as a piece of decoration in its own right even unlit, thanks to its volumes and its materials. It is for anyone who wants a wall light where the stone keeps the leading part but the making matters as much as the light. Since veining, tone and translucency vary from piece to piece, every alabaster wall light in the series is its own, which strengthens its standing as a piece chosen rather than an accessory bought.
This alabaster wall light is offered in two formats. The small model measures 18.5 cm in diameter by 36 cm high, while the large reaches 23 cm in diameter by 52 cm. The first suits walls of modest size or places where a measured presence is wanted; the second asserts itself and takes the wall more plainly. Whichever size you take, the alabaster wall light keeps the same two-panel veil and the same materials: only the scale changes, which makes the pair of sizes a question of the room rather than the design. The source is an integrated LED in warm white 3000 K, a colour temperature that follows the natural tone of the alabaster. The supply accepts 110 to 240 V AC, and the wiring is integrated into the fitting. As with any alabaster wall light connected to the mains, we recommend leaving the installation to an electrician. The fitting is designed for indoor use in a dry atmosphere, so it is not suited to a damp room or to any outdoor exposure. Within those conditions, the alabaster wall light goes into the rooms you live in, where a soft and constant light is wanted, with no bulb to choose. Under a 2.4 m ceiling, the 36 cm model is the easier of the two to place; the 52 cm wants a clear wall. Stone, metal and leather together are not a light assembly, and the larger of the two sizes in particular deserves a fixing chosen for the wall behind it rather than the one nearest to hand.
Before ordering, one point deserves attention: dimming. This alabaster wall light is adjustable only on the version named Triac dimmer. The plain warm white version is not dimmable, so its light stays at its usual level. That difference changes nothing about the stone or the materials; it concerns only whether the light can be lowered. For a room where you want to move between reading and the end of an evening, take the Triac dimmer version and your alabaster wall light will follow the hours. For a corridor or a passage where the light stays the same, the plain warm white version is ample. Compare the two sizes against the wall available as well, since the 36 cm and the 52 cm do not occupy a wall in the same way. Settling that in advance avoids any surprise and lets you enjoy the alabaster wall light with the light setting that matches how you live.
Between real alabaster, matt black metal and a leather strap, this alabaster wall light brings proper materials together in one composed fitting. Choose your size and your version to finish the room.

Light decides whether a room makes you want to stay. Each light is chosen for its material and for what it does with it.
A hallway, a bedhead or a table each call for a different light. Our collections are organised by use.
The market is full of painted resin that imitates marble. Our travertines and alabasters are cut from stone: no two pieces are identical.
Exact dimensions, material, bulb cap type, what is included: everything is on the product page. You know what you are installing.
