Description
keyboard_arrow_downThis travertine pendant light draws a U-shaped vault in real sand-toned stone, crowned with rings of solid wood in a walnut colour. Its dimensions are compact, so it finds a place in almost any room, with an architectural look that is calm and warm.
The shade of this travertine pendant light is a vault in the form of a U, cut from real travertine with a sand-toned finish. The arch is a classic architectural form, and here it is turned into a small hanging object, with the natural texture of the stone on show. Above it, rings of solid wood in a walnut colour crown the shade and give the fitting a warm accent. The overall dimensions are 12 cm across and 17 cm high, a size that is easy to place: it takes little width and little headroom. A travertine pendant light of this size works in groups, three or five hung at different heights over a console, a bed or a dining table, and it also works alone as a spot of light in an entrance or a corner. The stone is natural, so on every travertine pendant light the pores and the shades of sand vary from one shade to the next. The wood rings are a small detail that links the stone to your furniture, and the arch gives a rhythm when several are repeated side by side. The rings repeat on every head, so a group stays consistent whatever the heights. Several heads of this travertine pendant light hung at different heights read as one composition, which is easier than finding a single large shade that suits the room. Seen from below, the arch opens like a small doorway of stone, which is why the shade looks larger than its 12 cm. The look is sober and architectural, and it suits modern rooms with plaster, timber and linen.
This travertine pendant light takes a standard E27 Edison screw (ES) bulb, not included, with a maximum of 40 W incandescent or the LED equivalent. It can be dimmed with a dimmer, not included, so you can lower the light for the evening. The cable of 150 cm adjusts easily in height, the wiring is integrated into the fitting, and the canopy suits sloped ceilings of up to 30 degrees. The supply runs from 110 to 240 V AC. We recommend a qualified electrician for the connection, as for any fixed fitting. A single head of this travertine pendant light gives a modest pool of light, and because the head is small, a warm LED bulb is enough. so for a table or a worktop you will want several, spaced evenly. The small size also means that a travertine pendant light of this kind can be used in places where a larger shade would be too much, such as either side of a bed, in a narrow hall or in front of a window.
To make a group, hang three to five heads at different heights, and vary the cables by 10 or 20 cm, so that the arches overlap in your eye line without touching. Over a table, keep the travertine pendant light group within the width of the table; over a bed, use one either side. Under a 2.40 m ceiling, a 150 cm cable is too long for any place where people walk, since the usual guideline puts the lowest point of a pendant at 2.10 m above the finished floor, so shorten the cables to suit the room. At only 17 cm high, the shade of this travertine pendant light takes little space. For a bedside, hang a pair at the same height, one on each side, and keep the lowest point well above the pillow. In a hall, a group of three arches over a shelf gives the wall a focal point without needing a larger fitting. A warm bulb brings out the pores of the stone in a travertine pendant light, and a dimmer softens the light. Wipe the stone with a dry cloth, never a wet one, and leave space around each arch so that its outline can be seen from every side. Keep the stone dry and dust it lightly.
A U-shaped vault of real travertine and rings of solid wood: this travertine pendant light is compact and architectural. Hang it alone or in a group, and let the arch shape your ceiling. It is a small fitting with a clear drawing.
