Its cloudy veining is unique to each piece. Alborra presents it in four sizes, from 30 to 60 cm.

A minimalist square alabaster flush ceiling light

This square alabaster flush ceiling light stands for minimalism in its most soothing form. Its geometric shape, clean and without ornament, leaves all the room to the material: the main diffuser is real alabaster, whose cloudy veining is unique to each example. Lit, the light passes through the stone and shows variations of tone that recall a veiled sky; unlit, the square alabaster flush ceiling light keeps the look of a pale, matt slab set on the ceiling. A white frame against a white ceiling disappears, leaving only the stone glowing, which is the look many buyers want from a minimalist room. The structure and the accents are in white metal, lifted by subtle brass screws that add a small gold note, almost a jeweller’s detail. Its low profile of 10 cm suits rooms of standard ceiling height: under a 2.40 m ceiling this square alabaster flush ceiling light leaves 2.30 m beneath it, and it fixes directly to the ceiling, with no suspension or rod. The square alabaster flush ceiling light suits contemporary interiors and bright rooms where white dominates, but also warmer schemes, where the grain of the stone adds depth. It is a good choice for a lounge, a bedroom, a corridor or a study, because it lights broadly without ever imposing itself, and because the texture of the stone renews itself at each glance, with the hour and the angle of the daylight. Recent homes, with clean ceilings and bare walls, are a natural setting for this square alabaster flush ceiling light: it replaces a plastic bulkhead with a true material, and makes a luminous surface where you would have had a dazzling point. Its square geometry lines up readily with a rectangular room.

The white square alabaster flush ceiling light: sizes, LED and colour temperatures

This square alabaster flush ceiling light is available in four models, 30 cm, 40 cm, 50 cm or 60 cm wide and deep, all with a height of 10 cm. The depth is the same in all four sizes, so a 60 cm square is no thicker than a 30 cm one, and the larger sizes read as panels of light rather than as boxes. The stated weight is 3.12 kg, which reflects the presence of the stone and calls for a careful fixing. The source of this square alabaster flush ceiling light is an integrated LED of about 24 W, with a choice of colour temperature: a warm 3000K for an enveloping mood, or a cool 6000K for a brighter light. The fitting works on AC 110-240V and fixes straight to the ceiling, hard-wired. Its protection rating is IP20, which means indoor use in a dry room, away from splashes. Its compliance lists North American, Saudi Arabian, European and Australian standards. The square alabaster flush ceiling light therefore combines a simple construction, a discreet white metal and a natural stone that makes the difference. The brass screws, subtle as they are, remind you that detail counts as much as the whole, and they underline the quality of finish of this minimalist fitting. This square alabaster flush ceiling light also offers a regularity that the round form lacks: it lines up with the walls, with a beam or with the modules of a suspended ceiling, and avoids any visual misalignment in a room of strict lines.

Choosing a square alabaster flush ceiling light by size and light

To choose your square alabaster flush ceiling light well, begin with the surface of the room. The 30 cm suits an entrance, a corridor or a small study; the 40 cm fits a bedroom or an office; the 50 cm and the 60 cm give a more generous light to a lounge, a kitchen or a large bedroom. Then think about the colour temperature of your square alabaster flush ceiling light: the warm 3000K is the most comfortable for rooms of rest and goes with wood, natural textiles and sand tones, whereas the cool 6000K suits workspaces or kitchens where you want a crisper light. Since this square alabaster flush ceiling light is hard-wired and weighs 3.12 kg, have an electrician secure the fixing. If you hesitate between two sizes, take the larger: a 60 cm square alabaster flush ceiling light gives a striking result in a lounge, and the alabaster shows the full range of its veining there.

With its real alabaster of cloudy veining, its low profile and its integrated 24 W LED, this square alabaster flush ceiling light brings a calming light and a true material to the ceiling. All that remains is to choose its size and its colour temperature.
