cordless-real-travertine-table-lamp-15-5-cm
Cordless Real Travertine Table Lamp 15.5 cm

This cordless travertine table lamp sets a ring of raw travertine beneath a dome of pure white acrylic, for a light that is both sculptural and portable. It measures 15.5 cm across and 12 cm high, and moves from one table to another, indoors or out. Alborra selects it for its genuine mineral base and its simple USB charging.

A sculptural cordless travertine table lamp, from stone to acrylic

The first quality of this cordless travertine table lamp is visual. Its sculptural base of real, raw travertine, ring-shaped, rests on the table like a small mineral object: the stone keeps its natural surface, with its shading and texture, and no piece is exactly the same as another. Because the base is annular, the stone is seen from several angles, and its natural variations are part of the lamp’s appeal. Above it, the premium acrylic diffuser dome of the cordless travertine table lamp, pure white, gives a soft, enveloping light that contrasts with the grain of the stone. The result is a low, round, compact object, 15.5 cm in diameter and 12 cm high, closer to the idea of a sculpture-light than to a classic desk lamp. Set in the centre of a coffee table, on a windowsill or in the middle of a dining table, the cordless travertine table lamp needs neither a socket nor a visible cable, which changes the way a room is arranged: you put the light where you need it, not where the socket is. It accompanies a dinner, an evening on the terrace or a moment of reading, then returns to its place as a simple piece of decor. The contrast between raw stone and the smooth white of the dome also makes it easy to place; it goes with wood, linen, ceramic or glass, in a plain scheme or on a carefully laid table.

Three colours of light in a cordless travertine table lamp

Beneath its mineral appearance, this cordless travertine table lamp holds a restrained and durable technology. The source is a fully integrated, high-precision LED module that offers three colours of light, so you can adapt the lighting to the moment: warmer for dinner, more neutral for reading. The module is rated for a lifespan of about 50,000 hours. It cannot be replaced, so there is no bulb to buy, and the cordless travertine table lamp is meant to be kept for a long time. Charging is done through the USB port built into the base, a simple connection that makes the lamp self-sufficient again. The listing states that this cordless travertine table lamp is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, which widens the places it can go, from the lounge to the terrace; as no protection rating is given, avoid leaving it permanently exposed to rain. The white dome of this lamp spreads the light evenly, without glare, and lets the stone play its part as a decorative base. The listing also refers to standards for North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe and Australia. For a careful buyer or an electrician, the point to note is that this cordless travertine table lamp has no mains wiring at all: it is charged, then carried, and nothing needs fixing to a wall or ceiling.

Moving your cordless travertine table lamp from house to terrace

The main advantage of a cordless travertine table lamp is that it follows your habits. In the morning it can light the breakfast table; in the evening it stands on the lounge coffee table, then on a bedside table or a sideboard. Its 15.5 cm diameter lets you slip it between a tray, a vase and a few books without crowding. Choose the warmest of the three light colours for a meal, and a more neutral one for reading or playing games. Stand it on a flat surface, preferably away from the edge, to show off its ring of travertine. A cordless travertine table lamp also suits a first purchase for a small flat, since it needs no installation. Several lamps lined up along a table make an elegant string of light, without wire or extension lead, and they are put away as easily as they are brought out. The stone base also gives a sense of solidity that is welcome on a table that is often cleared and rearranged, and when the evening ends on the terrace, the lamp comes indoors and goes back on charge.

Raw travertine, a pure white dome and a long-life LED: this cordless travertine table lamp joins material and freedom of use.
